Stanley Sloan, Ph.D.
(ssloan@gsu.edu) is
the Director of Sponsored Research at The Usery Center for the
Workplace at Georgia State University. He leads the Center's
research and technical assistance services that focus primarily
on workplace issues and workforce development.
Dr. Sloan previously served as the Special Assistant to the
Director of the Federal Mediation & Conciliation Service (FMCS)
in Washington, D.C. He also is founder and owner of Sloan
Management Consulting (SMC). SMC helps businesses achieve
excellence by addressing the work force issues that
significantly impact success in the market place. Dr. Sloan has
over 30 years of management consulting experience, serving over
200 clients in all major sectors of the economy. Prior to
founding SMC, Dr. Sloan served as senior consultant for an
international management consulting firm, and as the top human
resource officer for a major international NYSE firm.
His Ph.D. is in Industrial Relations from the University of
Wisconsin. He earned his M.S. in Industrial Psychology from
Kansas State University and his A.B. in Liberal Arts from Temple
University. As a certified management consultant (CMC), he is
active in the Institute of Management Consultants USA, Inc. (IMC
USA). He serves on IMC's National Professional Development
Committee and National Professional Certification Panels. Dr.
Sloan also is an active board officer of the Metro Atlanta IMC
Chapter and served as Chairman of the Board and President.
Dr. Sloan is a well-published author, as well as a nationally
recognized speaker, trainer, and conference leader. He served on
the faculty of the University of Georgia, Georgia Perimeter
College, and has lectured on business subjects at other
universities. Dr. Sloan has served as a board member of various
public and private organizations, as well as an officer of
professional and community organizations and agencies.
